Colin leads product growth and experimental economics at Wave Mobile Money, a US-fintech company that builds financial infrastructure in West Africa (learn more about Wave: website, investor blogpost, news article here).

Prior to joining Wave, Colin was a senior fellow at the University of Toronto’s research centre, Behavioral Economics in Action at Rotman (BEAR), and a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Behaviorally Informed Organizations Partnership (BI-Org). Colin also worked as a consultant with technology companies and non-profits, including with Irrational Labs. In this work, he focused on the following areas:

  • Applying behavioral science to product design

  • Designing and running experiments for new product launches

  • User experience research

  • Workshops in applied behavioral economics and decision science

Clients included: Microsoft, Walmart, Intuit, Surest, Swiggy, Bumble, and Optum as well as several startups in digital health and fintech.

Previously, Colin was an Associate Consultant at Busara, an applied behavioral science consulting firm based in Nairobi, and at BEworks, a consulting firm based in Toronto.

Colin holds a Ph.D from UCLA (focused on behavioral economics and decision science) and an undergraduate degree from Harvard College.

While at Harvard, he was the captain of the varsity squash team, a 3-time All-American, Ivy League Player of the Year, National Individual Champion, and runner-up for Harvard Male Athlete of Year.
